Naveo Sailing Destinations

Six curated routes. Each shaped by the water, the food, and the people who live there.

A Note from Vincent

Why These Waters, and Not Others

I didn't set out to build a company. I found something that felt like freedom — engines off, sails up, open water — and thought: other people need to feel this.

What I quickly realised is that how it's done matters as much as where. I've seen the budget end of sailing holidays from the inside. Volume over quality. Boats full of people who didn't really want to be there. That's not what Naveo is. We stay small by design. I know every anchorage on these routes, which restaurant is worth the walk up the hill, which bay is still quiet by mid-afternoon. That takes time. It's not something you can copy from a brochure.

The six destinations here have all earned their place. Sardinia and Corsica feel completely different from each other — that's exactly the point. The Ionian is gentler than people expect, which makes it perfect for first-timers. The Aeolian Islands have Stromboli erupting at dusk, which you simply don't forget. Croatia has that water clarity that sounds made up until you see it. Turkey rewards patience. The BVI is everything the Caribbean promises and often doesn't deliver.

Food matters here. A lot. Our chef works with local farmers and whatever's fresh that morning. I've had guests on the last day asking if they can take the recipes home. That's how I know the week worked.

I'm living my dream. These trips are how I get to do it — and I want that to come through in how the week feels for you.

What Every Sailing Week Includes

The Best Bays & Lagoons

016 Pillars

The Best Bays & Lagoons

We anchor where the charter companies don't go. Hidden coves in the Maddalena archipelago, the turquoise lagoons of Lastovo, bays in the Lavezzi Islands you share with nobody. Every anchorage is chosen for a reason.

Experiences That Define the Journey

Every Naveo week is built around moments you can't find in a brochure — handpicked by Vincent from over a decade of sailing these waters.

Thalasso Spa — Sardinia & Corsica

Capo d'Orso, Sardinia

Thalasso Spa

A clifftop thermal spa overlooking the Maddalena archipelago. Seawater pools, salt scrubs, and a silence that only exists when you're this far from everything.

Sardinia & Corsica

Wine Tasting in Bonifacio — Sardinia & Corsica

Bonifacio, Corsica

Wine Tasting in Bonifacio

Corsican wines in a medieval citadel. The vineyards here grow on limestone, 70 metres above the sea. The whites are unlike anything on the mainland.

Sardinia & Corsica

Cooking with a Local Chef — Lefkada & Ionian Islands

Kioni, Ithaca

Cooking with a Local Chef

Learn to cook the Ionian way — slow-braised lamb, fresh octopus, and spanakopita from scratch. A village kitchen, a Greek grandmother, and recipes that don't exist in any book.

Lefkada & Ionian Islands

Blue Cave at Dawn — Croatia's Hidden Coast

Biševo Island, Croatia

Blue Cave at Dawn

The Blue Cave on Biševo turns electric blue when the sun hits at the right angle — around 10am. We arrive before the tour boats. The light inside is otherworldly.

Croatia's Hidden Coast

The Baths & The Indians — British Virgin Islands

Virgin Gorda & Norman Island, BVI

The Baths & The Indians

Giant granite boulders forming secret pools at The Baths. Then snorkelling The Indians — four rocky pinnacles teeming with reef life. Two of the Caribbean's most iconic spots in one day.

British Virgin Islands

Stromboli by Night — Sicily & Aeolian Islands

Stromboli, Aeolian Islands

Stromboli by Night

Anchor offshore as darkness falls. Every 15 minutes, the volcano erupts — orange lava against the night sky. Watched from the deck with a glass of Malvasia from Salina.

Sicily & Aeolian Islands

Paragliding over Ölüdeniz — Turkey's Turquoise Coast

Babadağ Mountain, Fethiye

Paragliding over Ölüdeniz

Launch from 1,900 metres above the Blue Lagoon. The Turquoise Coast stretches below — pine forests meeting turquoise water. Then your skipper picks you up from the beach.

Turkey's Turquoise Coast

Ancient Ruins at the Waterline — Turkey's Turquoise Coast

Gemiler Island, Fethiye

Ancient Ruins at the Waterline

Byzantine church ruins on a hilltop island, accessible only by boat. Walk through stone archways with views over the turquoise bays below. History that you can touch.

Sailing Regions

Why These Waters

The Mediterranean

Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily, Croatia, and Turkey all sit within the Mediterranean basin — one of the world's most concentrated sailing regions. Protected anchorages, consistent summer winds, ancient harbours, and UNESCO-listed coastlines within day-sail range of each other. The sailing season runs May through October, peaking in June, July, and September.

Sardinia & CorsicaSicily & Aeolian IslandsDalmatian CoastTurkish Coast

The Ionian & Aegean

The Ionian Sea, off Greece's western coast, is calmer and more forgiving than the Aegean — ideal for first-time sailing holidays and for travellers who want to focus on the experience rather than the conditions. Lefkada and the surrounding Ionian Islands offer dramatic scenery, excellent swimming, and easy passage-making between anchorages.

Lefkada & Ionian Islands

The Caribbean

The British Virgin Islands sit in the heart of the Caribbean's best sailing grounds, offering consistent trade winds, warm clear water, and island-to-island navigation that feels effortless. The BVI is the only destination in the Naveo calendar where swimming is warm year-round and where the light has that particular Caribbean quality. We sail here in late winter — February and March — when European winters are at their worst.

British Virgin Islands

What is the best sailing destination in the Mediterranean for beginners?

The Ionian Sea — specifically the Lefkada and surrounding Greek islands — offers the gentlest conditions and most protected anchorages in the Mediterranean. It's calm, predictable, and scenically stunning, making it the ideal introduction to sailing holidays.

When is the best time to charter a catamaran in the Mediterranean?

June and September are generally the best months: warm enough to swim comfortably, less crowded than peak July/August, and with steadier winds. July and August are busier but offer the warmest water and longest days. May and October suit experienced sailors looking for quieter anchorages.

What makes a luxury sailing holiday different from a standard charter?

On a Naveo charter, the difference is in the level of curation. We plan the itinerary based on real knowledge of each anchorage — not brochure routes. Meals are prepared fresh on board. We make restaurant reservations at places we actually recommend. And the pace follows what the group needs, not a fixed schedule.

Is the British Virgin Islands good for first-time sailing guests?

The BVI is one of the most accessible sailing destinations in the world — warm, calm waters, short passages between islands, and outstanding swimming and snorkelling. No sailing experience is required. Most guests arrive having never been on a catamaran and leave wishing they had more time.
