Seven days through the Ionian, on the gentlest water in the Mediterranean — the recorded track of one real week. You board at Lefkada and drift south: Meganisi's deep green bays, the harbour of Vathy on Ithaca where Odysseus came home, the pastel Venetian waterfront at Fiskardo, the near-empty coves of Kastos and Kalamos, and Sivota's sheltered horseshoe to close. Short, protected passages, a village taverna every night, and a table on board that leans Greek and simple. The easiest sailing there is for a group travelling together.

Practical notePreveza (Aktion) Airport (PVK) is about 30 minutes from Lefkada marina. We start and end at Lefkada. The Ionian breeze is gentle and reliable and the passages are short and sheltered — the easiest Mediterranean sailing for a group with mixed experience.

You fly into Preveza, thirty minutes from the marina, and step aboard at Lefkada. A short first hop south to Meganisi — a small green island of deep, quiet bays. Anchor off, the first swim, and an evening ashore at a village taverna.
South to Sami, on Kefalonia's green east coast — the gateway to the Melissani cave, and a relaxed harbour front for the evening.
Across to Ithaca — the island of Odysseus — into the deep natural harbour of Vathy, ringed by hills of olive and cypress. A walk around the village, a swim off the boat.
North to Fiskardo — the prettiest harbour on Kefalonia, Venetian houses at the waterline spared by the 1953 earthquake, clear water off the quay, and a lively little waterfront in the evening.
East to the unspoilt small islands of Kastos and Kalamos — pine down to the shore, a handful of tavernas on the water, and one of the quietest anchorages in the Ionian. The chef cooks on board.
Back toward Lefkada into Sivota — a sheltered horseshoe bay ringed with waterside tavernas. An easy, pretty last night at anchor.
A gentle morning sail back to Lefkada to disembark, with time for a last swim on the way in. Stay on for a night in Lefkada town if you have it — the old streets above the harbour are worth a wander.
